The Wyndsor Phono Pre-Amplifier with Power Supply from Creek Audio is designed to amplify a signal from a turntable's pick-up cartridge through a modern hi-fi stereo system. The pre-amplifier works to boost the level and correct the frequency levels by incorporating filters that are the opposite of those used for recording to flatten the frequency response. The Wyndsor Phono Pre-Amplifier incorporates user selectable gain and cartridge matching capabilities. This unit features a simple front panel display and control interface. The Wyndsor is designed in a three stage semiconductor circuit design configuration, with precision RIAA equalization at each stage.
The left and right channels of the Wyndsor are built on separate printed circuit boards (PCB). Each channel has dedicated power supply regulation to completely isolate one channel from the other. Unbalanced input and outputs are connected via high grade gold plated RCA sockets, while balanced input is possible via 3-pin mini DIN included plugs. Gold contact relays are used to switch all the functions and are driven from a linear power supply to isolate them from the analog pre-amplifier circuitry. This Phono pre-amplifier uses a Wyndsor power supply unit, with separate voltages for analog and digital circuits. You can switch the pre-amplifier on and off from the power source either by the switch on the front of the power supply or on the back of the pre-amplifier.
